Shawnna Mckinney Williams, ACNP-BC

Shawnna Mckinney Williams is a Nurse Practitioner at Valley Pain Clinic who works in collaboration with Dr. Ahmad, Shikhtholth providing excellent care for their patients.

Shawnna began her career in the healthcare field as a critical care Respiratory Therapist for 19 years. In 2006 she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Alabama in Huntsville. While working in the cardiac intensive care unit, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a subspecialty in Adult Acute Care through the accelerated Nursing program at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2011. She was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International in 2012. Shawnna is a Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner holding a national certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. In addition to her extensive clinical experience, she also has an outstanding academic background that includes two bachelor’s degrees (a BS in Biology and Chemistry). Shawnna interests include healthcare policy, palliative care and quality of life of patients with chronic diseases and disabilities, and she is extremely dedicated to advocating and enhancing the care of the geriatric population.

She is a certified clown, and volunteers with the Rebecca Crowson Memorial Klown Klub through Huntsville Hospital system. She participates annually in career day for High school students in the Madison City School. She is married, has 4 children, one grandson and enjoys spending time with her family. She enjoys gardening. She loves to travel, and has visited most of the continental US, as well as the US territories, and foreign destinations including the British Virgin Islands, Mexico, Canada, England, and Australia.
